Description
Join us in our bright and spacious East London studio for a 4-week pottery throwing course. You’ll gain an understanding of the whole ceramics process - from preparing clay, to creating
forms on the wheel, to glazing and firing.
During the course you will learn and experience:
- How to throw on the potter’s wheel.
- How to trim pots on the wheel, and how to add handles to mug bodies.
- How to use underglazes to add decoration.
- The basics of glazing and preparing your pots for firing.
With a maximum of just 4 people in the class, you’ll receive plenty of hands on tuition and can ask for guidance in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
Suitable for beginners who’ve never touched clay, and for those with some experience who’d like to develop their skills. The small group size means the class can be tailored to your individual needs and interests, and your teacher, Flo, will be on hand the whole time to support you at your own pace.
Everything is included in the price, and you’re welcome to keep everything that you make during the course. At the end of the course, we’ll fire your pieces and you can return to the studio to collect them a few weeks later.

Extra info
- Pottery is a messy business! Aprons will be provided and clay washes out easily, but we recommend wearing something comfortable that you don't mind getting dirty.
- You may want to cut your nails before the sessions as this can make it easier, but it's not essential.
- If you’d rather pay in instalments that is absolutely fine. We understand that the cost can be a large chunk upfront, and we want to make our courses accessible to as many people as possible. Please get in touch here to arrange this.
- Our studio is on the ground floor with step free access. Free parking is available.
Cancellation Policy
As a small studio, cancellations can have a big impact on us and others in the class. We understand that life can be unexpected, but please try to give us as much notice as possible for any changes.
- If you can't make the course anymore, please consider giving your place to somebody else to enjoy before cancelling. All places are transferable!
- Cancel up to 21 days before the start date to receive a full refund.
- Cancellations with less than 21 days notice will not be guaranteed any refund or rescheduling.
